In My Garden

Weeding and weeding! Unfortunately, that is the
only real solution to Johnson Grass.
AND I was forced to mow the lawn without my trusty sidekick. We were both disappointed. He even has his own line trimmer, and he even calls it by it's right name! |

| We just got back from the doctor. We are having a boy and everything looks great! He is due early-mid January. I don't remember the date. Awesome. |

A couple quotes from authors unknown:
"Not one shred of evidence exists in favor of the idea that life is serious." "I don't mind going nowhere, as long as it's an interesting path." |

All About Me!
|
![]() First and foremost, I am a Dad and a Husband. Those just may be the two coolest things that can happen to a person. On the side, I am a musician, an explorer, and a sometimes pirate. Most commonly, though, I can be found creating, maintaining, and talking about landscapes. I honestly believe that if everyone had the opportunity to do what they love, there would be a person for every job. Some folks love accounting, I love gardening - more specifically landscape gardening. I spent the formative years of my life on a small farm just outside of the middle of nowhere. Since there were so few kids my age, I got to know the flora and fauna around me pretty well. It wasn't long before I became the designated landscaper for my family. By the time I left home, working with the land was so commonplace to me that I never really considered it as a career. I wandered off on a couple of other paths for a while - salesman, massage therapist, epic traveller. When I first settled into Austin, TX, I took a job at the first place that would have me. As luck would have it, it turned out to be a retail nursery. I was reawakened to a passion that had long been dormant. I haven't looked back. In the years since, I have acted as a retail landscape manager, landscape designer, owned a custom installation business, managed the landscape department for a major restaurant chain, and hosted two garden shows. I am a Texas Master Naturalist and Texas Certified Landscape Professional. I also am a self-proclaimed "lazy gardener", and you are more likely to see margaritas than maintenance in my home landscape. Nowadays, I am a professional personal gardener and spend my spare time hanging out with my family. I am in love with the Austin area and constantly look for cool places to hike and visit. I also happen to be a bit of a dreamer and an adventurer. My wife doesn't seem to mind too much, and I happen to think that both are qualities that make for a good life and a good gardener. |
